On The Other Hand...
I actually did this comic a couple of months ago for the Emerging Writers Festival Reader. It's a great little publication that's chock full of essays by... emerging writers! (You were thinking I was gonna say porcupines, admit it. No, that's the Porcupine Writer's Festival Reader.)

Time consuming, yes. And there's always so many things to do.
Great strip, as always.
You took the words right out of my mouth, Chris. Comics are so frustrating and so wonderful at the same time. Great concept for this strip.
another awesome page layout. You're always so smart with that stuff!
another zinger, innovative comic format-wise, anyway.
i caught myself reading them top-bottom first though...
So good. The concept and execution are fantastic. And so true - if you try and explain "why comics" to someone - I guess you have to love comics to understand.
I understand how it is to feel compelled to do something that makes little sense to others.
I've just started reading through several comic blogs and am really enjoying them.
Thanks.
Spam? On Christmas Eve? WTF?! I guess you know you've "made it" once you start getting internet junk in your comments section. Have a great holiday, man.
Hey Guys, Thanks as always for all the brilliant comments. It means a LOT coming from all of you!
Matt - I took care of that spam and deleted it. (Thought I'd put that on the end so that your comment didn't seem like crazy talk.)
Anyone who knows me knows I'm a little bit crazy but I appreciate the thought, sir.
I've been thinking a lot about this comic the last week or so. I got "Bottomless Belly Button" by Dash Shaw for Christmas and it made me realize how accurate your strip is. It took Dash 2 1/2 years to draw his (amazing) graphic novel and I read it in under 2 1/2 hours! You're right: what other medium could a person spend so much to creating where the reader consumes it so quickly?
Happy New Year, Chris!
