Secondly, I did try to get to vote, but didn't get a reply from my hometown voter registration.

Hi Chris,

Absentee ballots for many states can trickle in for up to two weeks after the election. (Each state has different rules.) You can vote a write-in ballot via http://www.votefromabroad.com/
and mail it in if you're game. I've been registering voters in Cambodia for the last 6 weeks.
